The Computer Society Continues To Face Challenges Adapting To The Post COVID-19 World. Challenges In Supporting, Bringing Together And Increasing Our Diverse Worldwide Membership And Customer Base Throughout The Various Career Stages Of Student, Early Professional, Mid And Late Term Professional And Even Their Post Career.

The Society Can’t Be All Things For Everyone But We Can Provide Opportunity For All.  For Some It Is Opportunity To Learn, And Others To Participate And Even Lead In Developing Standards, Sharing Knowledge Via Publications And Conferences, And For Still Others It Can Be In The Form Of Mentoring And Preparing The Next Generation.

The Computer Society Is All About Providing Opportunity

Although The Computer Society Can’t Be All Things For Everyone, It Does Provides A Buffet Of Opportunity

Diversity = Synergy       Diversity  = Creativity          Diversity = Innovation

Diversity Leverages  Different Perspectives, Ideas, And Voices Leading To: Greater Access To Knowledge, Talent and Skillsets Due To The Synergy Among Inhabitants (Members) And Their Environment

The Computer Society Needs To Continue To Adapt And Capitalize Upon Its Diversity And The Synergy Which That Provides In Order To Adapt To To A New And Ever-Changing World And Continue To Meet The Needs And Surpass The Expectations Of Our Diverse Worldwide Membership And Customer Base.

POSITION STATEMENT.

YOU GET WHAT YOU GET BECAUSE YOU DO WHAT YOU DO

Continuing to do the same things, the same way, won’t provide a better outcome especially when it comes to engaging students, early career professionals, and industry and government individuals. We must work together in developing and implementing improved and more encompassing processes and programs to better serve a diverse society and the community of computing professionals.

A DIVERSE CONSTITUENCY AND CUSTOMER BASE

As a worldwide enterprise, we are favored with a worldwide constituency and customer base from which to draw upon but who also have ever-changing needs as do the non -members who also attend our conferences and utilize our services.  The days of “build it and they will come” have passed.  We must reach out.

OPPORTUNITY

We, as the leading provider of technical information, community services, and personalized services to the world’s computing professionals, must seek out better ways to provide opportunity with focused action especially supporting students and the underserved.

MY PROMISE

I will be a strong voice from industry and a champion for a globally inclusive Computer Society. I will do my best.
